Specialized S-Works FSR
I got this bike after my Kestrel Rubicon was stolen. The value of my Kestrel was notable. When it was said and done, I had a nice 4-figure budget for my next ride. The joys of “replacement” value insurance coverage.
I looked around to see what my options were. Kestrel was no longer making mountain bikes. Schwinn and Cannondale are pale shadows of their former glory. I could go with one of the new companies like Santa Cruz or Ibis. In the end, I found exactly what I was looking for in the S-Works FSR. It had everything I was looking for. The Fox fork and rear shock gave me the perfect ride. The carbon frame kept me even with the Kestrel.
As usual, I made a few changes. Mostly, I was trying to mimic the Kestrel’s component list. Chris King Hubs and headset and everything else XTR.
