I took delivery of my Super Ténéré on 4-Aug-2011 with 1 mile on the odo.

Phenomenal motorcycle.  It’s not perfect, but close.  The saddle is a real pain in the ass.  Literally.  A.  Real.  Pain in my ass.

Trips/Loops:

  • Three Capes Loop: To complete the initial 600 mile break in period.
  • Portland to Baker City to Clarkston, WA to Portland: 1100 miles.
  • Palmer Mill Rd – NE Alex Barr Rd loop
    Upgrades and add-ons:
  • Added Battery Tender lead for recharging the battery. (Dealer)
  • Removed 4 of the rubber bumpers from the saddle to flatten it out.
  • Add Ram mount base on the bar clamp.
  • Add Bags Connection GS Tank bag with 12v feed.
  • Add FuzeBlock FZ1 Fuse Block.

Impressions:

  • The ABS seems to work just fine.
  • TC 2 is really fun when in the dirt.
  • It needs a pipe to help with the flat spots at low RPM.

In October of 2011, I added a few AltRider parts: crash bars, luggage rack, side stand foot, universal joint guard, and rear brake master cylinder guard.  I’m working on a custom bash plate with a friend.  I’ve got over 2500 miles on the bike at this point.
