The long and short of it.

She said she wanted a Ducati. One appeared on her birthday. She was not happy, but it was a very quick shortcut on pre-marital relations.

She learned:

  • Not to tell me she wanted something with bold statements and grand gestures, because I might actually be listening.
  • That I am more than willing to spend large amounts of effort to make her smile.
  • I have not problem thumbing my nose at anyone who gets in my way.

I learned:

  • She doesn’t mean everything she says. She means it in that moment, but maybe not so much when considered in the larger picture.
  • She has no sense of humor about motorcycles. It’s a sore subject from her ex. She supports my interest but she isn’t addicted like I am.

Here’s the Craiglist Ad I used to sell her bike.

So. It’s gone.

My impressions of the bike: Twitchy. Bitchy. Phenomenal.

A better track bike than a street bike.

It is what it is. It’s a Monster. If your’e in the mood to tame it, then go for it. If you want a casual stroll through the country side, find something else.

It corners like a fiend. Telepathic.

Wonderful power deliver once it has warmed up.

Complete and total bitch when it’s cold and it takes a long time to warm it up.

Riding it, effort.

Too small. I feel like a pretzel when I’m on it.

The guy that bought is was getting back into motorcycles. It seemed a bit strange to me that a returning rider would be so fixated on a Ducati, but he was. He had been looking at Monsters and only Monsters. He wanted the 1000cc. <shrug>
