I’m slowly gearing up for a run up to Klickitat. I want to get up there and take a look. It can be a very relaxing place. There is a really nice turn out above the river where the sunsets are really pretty. The turn out is about a mile up a canyon. The sides are not steep drop-offs but steep grassland. The river isn’t visible nor is the upload plateau. It’s quiet with a big shade tree. It’s a nice place to stop, eat an apple and sip some water.

The Saddle Sore topic is amorphous as always. I need more miles in the saddle, but if I let go of the Hyder idea. Then I could ride anywhere. I just need to rack up those 1000 miles. Scott has been neutral on a destination. He just wants to ride. This may take a while to figure out. We need miles to understand how we are going to hold up, regardless.

I found an oil leak on the SuperDuke this weekend. I tightened the offending bolt, but I am slightly concerned. The KTM doesn’t have a ‘normal’ sight glass to check the oil level. It has a tube on the side of the oil tank with banjo bolts on both ends. The lower bolt was the leaker. The bolt didn’t snug down like I want and I’m afraid of stripping it out. I think I’ll take it over to the dealership the next time I get a chance.

I shredded my hands on Sunday playing my drums. One torn blister. One blood blister. Two risen blisters. The last time I had blisters like these, I left them alone and they healed faster and with less pain than ripping them open. We shall see.
