Why does every WordPress theme I’ve seen fall into two basic catagories? Boring or ugly? I don’t even like my current theme that much but after spending 30 minutes swapping themes and reviewing the publicly availalbe options… I’m not making any changes.
All of the possibilities and we get options like this (link), this (this), and this (link). Obviously, someone put some time, effort and more than a little thought into some of these but what about a sense of style and/or restraint?
<sigh>
I’m on vacation, so I think I will just leave it at that.

The strangeness continues…
So I have a job err… contract err… whatever you want to call it. My contract is ending on Nov 21st. No big deal. I start doing my interviews for the next gig. Last Friday I had a 30 min phone interview for a telecommuting gig out of the Bay Area. I skipped out of the office around 11:15, so I could find a quiet place to do the interview. Interview comes and goes. The project sounds interesting. A couple hours later, I get the gig. Nice. I get to work from home AND it pays a lot better than anything around here. Double-bonus round.

Even as I disagreed with some of his views, I think Crichton wrote some truly wonderful and entertaining books. Congo, Timeline, Eaters of the Dead are a few favorites.
And the electorate spoke.
The challenges will be converting ideas into actions, managing unrealistic expectations, and making those incremental changes I mentioned yesterday. It’s time to dig in and create a new, different tomorrow.
