Doctor’s orders / Electrician == Destruction
I was told to take it easy. To focus on getting more sleep and take a few days off from the remodeling/moving effort. This was my instruction at 5pm yesterday. I went home laid down for 10 minutes then was off again. Dinner and a trip to IKEA for bedroom furniture and lighting fixtures. When we got to the house around 21:00, I discovered the wonderful surprises left by the electrician. Yea!
The house has a warranty. Two plugs in the garage didn’t work. So… The electrician came over Monday and did… something. I don’t really know what s/he did. I assume it was a he because of the total fucking mess left in his wake. The plugs don’t work. There is a hole in the wall and sheetrock dust covering 3 bags that were on a shelf. One of the plugs has been jimmied in the wall so it no longer sits flush. My brand new tool cabinet has a pair of scratches across the front and tool marks on the top. Wiring is dangling at the top of the wall. So… He fucks everything up and STILL doesn’t resolve the problem.
I’m not happy. ‘F’ rating on Angie’s List. Canceled payment on the $55 deductable. Complained to the warranty company and to the realtor.
I don’t really care if they can’t get the plugs to work. I am fine with some reasonable explaination, which I have not gotten. I am not fine with damaging the walls and my $300 storage cabinet.

Unprofessional and incompetent is a kind understatement.
Of course, I really didn’t need all of this right now. I am still pushing extreme exhaustion. I am now thinking about bailing out of the office in the early afternoon. I am still taking tomorrow off so I can hammer through my chores. But before I start any heavy lifting I really need about 14 hours of sleep. Then I will be back on it.
