I think I am starting to get caught up on my sleep. I have not worked on the house in the last 3 nights. There’s a big push for the weekend, but that doesn’t start until tomorrow.
I lost track of time this morning looking at bathroom fixtures online (Link), which lead me to bedroom furniture (Link). I love the minimalist Euro-styles. My goal is to have a clutter-free home. And if any of you know me and have seen my past living environments… This goal will be a true challenge. All of my CDs, non-programming books, DVDs, and sheet music will be stored in my drum room. That should help a lot. I put my computer books on a rolling cart so I can pull everything out when I need. It looks clean and very industrial. Big surprise.
Tomorrow evening, on my way home, I will pick up the new office furniture (Link) and a storage cabinet (Link) for the garage. I spent a lot of time last weekend on the garage and painting the office (twice). The cabinet should finish out the garage efforts for the time being. I think Friday eveing will be mostly spent sanding the walls in the master bedroom. The wallpaper was professionally removed. Now I need to sand everything. The painter wants a coat of oil-based primer up before she comes back to paint everything. The current debate is whether or not we should just texture the walls. I don’t think I can get the walls to look ‘perfect.’ Texturizing the walls would camoflage any niggles. The brass wall lamps had to go…
The goal for tonight will be to box up the office and get it all of the equipment moved over if time allows. 3 computers, 5 displays, 27″ TV, network infrastructure, power strips, all of my computer media, USB hubs, desk lamps, on and on… If I simply shove everything into boxes without sorting or concern for tiny items, I should be boxed up within 2 or 3 hours.
Hmm…
Progress. Slow, semi-steady, progress. There 18 full days left in the month.
Music for the day has been Seether and Green Day. I think I will queue up some Ministry.
