The Guard
This morning I have been caught up in my quest for more information on the Revolutionary Guard. I’m not sure why beyond wanting to understand a group of people that are fundamentally opposed to my own world view. If you haven’t noticed, I let free association dominate my web time, which is what the web is really about. Asking a question, then seeing where the rabbit hole goes.
- Islamic Revolutionary Guards
- Ahmadinejad? Who’s he?
- Asymmetric Warfare
- The Qods
- The Iran-Iraq War: Strategy of Stalemate
And on it goes…
I’m reading/skimming the articles while I try to wrap my mind around their philosophy and operational stance. My goal is not to fully understand them, because I don’t believe that is possible and more than I believe it is possible for a member of the Revolutionary Guard to fully understand my approach to life. My goal is to be better informed so that I can make choices and form opinions through facts and not myth, fantasy, and delusion. The guard exists. They wish to destroy my country. Ok. I get that. Do I really care? No. Hugo Chavez lusts for the same. Somehow I don’t think either will succeed. Don’t these people understand that they need us?
On the other hand, the dipshit President (the joy of shame elections) has done more to destroy the rights of the individual in a free society than any foreign nation. I would not shed a single tear if he were to disappear from the world stage. The sooner, the better. We will ALL be better off when his time has passed into history.
No child left behind = Cater to the morons.
Tax cuts for the rich, during war = Burdon 80% of the population so that your friends can have another house in the Hamptons.
Sir, the country is under attack. = Don’t bother me I finally found a book that I could read without help!
The only thing worse than W? Cheney. A guy who will attack his own daughter for political gain. And don’t forget he shoots his friends for sport.
And now for something completely different…
PS: I rode to work this morning. The sun was out and temps were in the low 40s.
