Yesterday and Today
May 9th, 2007
Yesterday:
I rode instead of going out to lunch.
I rode across town to meet my Mom for dinner.
I rode after dinner. This last outing was the most fun. I was already on the west side of town and I felt like retracing old routes. I rode across Balk Peak, through Laurelwood and Gaston. Then I crossed over to West Union and hooked up with Skyline. Twists and turns, back into PDX. By this point, the sun had set and I had flipped up my visor as bugs splattered against my mirrored Oakleys.
Interesting moments:
- Twisting down Bald Peak Rd, relaxed, not pushing, fluid and sync’d.
- Flaming sunset view near Bald Peak State Park
- A herd of Elk had moved into a meadow off Skyline.
- Rock in the knee from an on-coming car as I dropped into a corner on West Union.
- Following a BMW SUV down Skyline as the driver unsuccessfully struggled to pull away from me.
- Drifted a bit too fall in a right hand corner on Thompson.
- Not being able to trigger the signal light at Hart and Murray.
Today:
Now, I’m sitting in a meeting. Bored because I don’t really care about seeing an application demo for something I will never, ever use. Frustrated because I can’t work on an issue on a server.
The life of a knowledge worker.
