Alive and kicking
Well…
Everyone is still alive and kicking. My Mom’s pace maker was installed on Wednesday morning. There were a few difficulties, but she’s doing fine. Actually, she doing better than I had expected. When I talked to her 2 days ago, she was still struggling with her lack of energy. I reminded her that the Dr said her O2 levels would be low for a couple weeks until her heart rhythm mellowed out and resync’d.
While all of this was going on I started writing blog entries on my laptop. Obviously, I have not posted it yet. When I when home on Wednesday night, my wrists were killing me. Carpal tunnel strikes again. As a result, I stopped typing for a few days and left the blog to stagnate on my hard drive. Maybe I will finish and post it. Maybe not.
It’s tax time. Wonderful. I have this little problem with my back taxes… It has been a long while since I filed. It is a long story, but I had some difficulties which included trusting the wrong person. (She’s an EX-wife for a reason.) Things got out of whack and I have not fully recovered. My 2006 return is a step in the right direction. Right now, I’m looking at over $5k in refunds. I am expecting all of it to cycle right back in to what I owe. It’s a start. Definitive, for sure, but I still need to gather my records and file those missing returns. I need an accountant and someone to negotiate a settlement. But first, I need to track down the last of my medical deductions and work/business expenses. Once I have those pieces in place, I can send off my return.
I woke up in a daze this morning. I watched a little TV, showered, slammed a Red Bull, and took my meds/vitamins. No change. I’m dragging. I want to go ride, either a motorcycle or a mountain bike. I really don’t care which, but I am way too out of it to dare piloting anything more complicated than a mouse at the moment. Maybe I’ll go back to bed for a while. I can always throw on an Enigma CD and zone out for a couple of hours…

So what do I do? I start playing with the site. LOL That process started 2 hours ago. I updated ‘Routes’ and ‘Gear’, tweaked the template/stylesheets, and changed the masthead graphic. There’s motorcycle racing on today. I wonder when? Hmm…
