Change?

Some things never change…

My work last night fried my left wrist. My carpatunnel is so bad today that I can’t hold anything of any mass or for any prolonged duration in my left hand. So, not grand treatise tonight. I guess I’ll just watch TV or continue reading my book(s).

What have I been doing?

What HAVE I been doing?

I passed a cop on the I-84. He was in the slow lane. I was slicing through traffic teetering between under and over a buck in a 60 mph zone. Left, right, left, accelerate. Was that a cop in that last pack? Check rear view. No lights. Well, if I was to get a ticket doing over 100 mph, Oregon law requires a $1000 fine and a suspended license for 30 days. I think it is time to evacuate before someone changes their mind about pursuit. Exit onto I-5 North, take the first exit onto Sandy, and the first right onto a side street. Take 102nd home…

Sounds like self-destructive behavior to me.

“ I’ve stopped all of that now.”
“You were outside of my place this morning.”
(Name that movie.)

Counseling is helping me mellow out a bit. New meds help as well. Do I need a higher dose?

It is paradox. I know that I’m generally insane. Staying ‘here’ is a constant struggle. I get distracted. I forget so much of everything that I do and say. I day dream and lose track of time. My mind just slips away and I’m not here any longer. It is hard to describe. It is harder to live. Read more…

Weak Knees

February 25th, 2007 No comments

My knees hurt. I’m a keyboard jockey. I sit on my ass all day long. Walking for almost 2 hours today was a painful experience. Home & Garden Show. Interesting. I enjoyed the demo gardens the most. One used a spiral theme. Another a Yen-Yang. Another had purple everywhere (not my favorite). All of that time on concrete was painful on my feet and knees, mostly my knees.

Yeah, I know I need more exercise. Spring is coming. The longer days will bring more opportuniites for mountain biking, walks and hikes.

I’ve been reading a lot lately, mostly SQL Server books. But I have been seduced by ‘Dreaming in Code’

Last week, I spent over 9 hours in the saddle.

On Sunday, I spent 5 hours while on a “detour” as I headed down to my Mom’s. It normally takes me about 75 to 90 minutes to get there.

On Monday, I rode to work. As I was leaving, I took a right instead of a left. And so began a 3 hour ride up to the Gorge.

The rest of the week, I spent caged for various reasons. Only on Friday was it optional and I didn’t know that until about mid-morning.

Yesterday, I wanted to ride but I ended up digging drainage trenches with Tony. By the time we had finished the weather had turned. It was cold, windy and raining… hard.

Today, I am going back to my Mom’s. I haven’t decided on my mode of travel. Rain is in the forecast and I broke the zipper on my winter/waterproof boots last week. Hmm…
