My Mom called me today, while I was on my way to lunch. Emily, my oldest German Sheppard died some time last night. She wasn’t a spring chicken, so it wasn’t unexpected. Still. My little girl is gone and it sucks.
Picked up Delicate Sound of Thunder during lunch yesterday.
I’m finally sleeping again. Two nights in a row, I have gotten to sleep for more than 6 hours. I wonder what tonight will bring. I could use 10 hours of good sleep.
First counselor appointment was today. I was upset and anxious about it all day long. I went. Spilled my guts, then left. Time to burn some fuel. Now, I’m home and ready to go to bed.

I still am not sleeping right. I took a nap last night. I laid down around 7 and woke up around 9. That was it. After turning off the lights 3 separate times, noodling around on my guitar twice, watching a movie, and migrating 400 GBs of data on to my new computer, I still couldn’t sleep. Well. Friday sucked. Thursday really sucked, then Friday came and iced it.
I skipped out of work a few minutes early, thinking I would go home and take a nap. I was still extremely wasted from moving on Thursday. So… I get to my apartment, park, walk around the building to my front door, insert key in the deadbolt, unlock, insert key in door handle, unlock, open, thud.

Last night was all hallows eve, which is typically one of my favorite nights of the year. It’s part of that whole pagan / mother earth / trying to be in tune with the natural cycles of life thang resurfacing. Instead, my night was again dominated by my more recent past. I slept 4 hours the previous night. After driving many miles around the central Willamette valley, I got to bed around 01:00. I was awake at 05:00 without external stimuli. Great. I tried to go back to sleep, but couldn’t. Eventually, I got rolling and my day dragged. After a long day at work, I went to Costco to drop-off and pick-up needed items.
