I know I have not been writing much lately. That doesn’t mean that I am not riding. It just means I have been pretty busy lately. Work has geared up and every free moment has been occupied.
Today I rode to Cape Meares. Last Sunday, I rode up to Mt St Helens. Last Tuesday, I rode up toward Larch Mt and into the Gorge on my YZF. I am working on the write-ups. But honestly, I would rather ride than sit here and type… Read more…

I have this habit. Every year, close to Thanksgiving, I try to ride up to Mt St Helens to take a look at the mountain. The last two years, I rode my YZF and went up on Friday after Thanksgiving. This year, I went up earlier in the week, on Monday. In the past, I haven’t been able to make it all of the way up to Johnstone Ridge Observatory. This year was different.

What can I say? I don’t enjoy riding when the temp is close to freezing. Last night, I had ice forming on my garbage can. Tonight, the temp was 39° when I got ready to head out for some late night tutoring. I walked right past my bikes without a second thought. I would rather be warm than force an issue on principal. Call me chicken, if you like.

Insomnia is an interesting event. I have been out of sorts with Bronchitis for weeks. That lingering cough. When I finally sought medical attention, I was proscribed cough syrup with codeine. I hate taking chemicals of any kind, especially ones that knock me out for days… But I have to breathe. So, I took my meds and slept for most of the last week.
