YZF Errands

I took the YZF out today for a lunch meeting and my client visits. I rode about 90 miles.

Every time I get on this bike, I have problems. OK. Not real problems, just the little stuff that happens when you switch bikes. I stalled it downtown (already used to the v-twin torque). I had a little wobble leaving the shop (already used to the slow speed stability of the DL). Of course, I corner like a fiend once I remember how. It is the same ol’, same ol’. The YZF likes the higher RPMs. The DL prefers the lower RPMs. The DL is what I ride on an almost daily basis. So I struggle for a bit until I “remember” how to ride the YZF and it feels so small when compared to the bulk of hte DL. That always throws me.

I still have not made up my mind about selling it. I go back and forth. Keep it. Sell it. Keep it. Sell it. Ad nauseum…

I ordered a new rear tire today: Bridgestone BT012, 170/60/R17, $190 retail. Ouch! Yes, I know it is slightly wider than stock. It sticks very well and I like the feel. So I ordered another one… The tire is in Cali, so it will be next week before I see it.
